You’ve no doubt heard of him too: the man who ascended to the icy heights of the Schnalstal glacier over 5,000 years ago, where he perished. Ötzi was discovered by chance in 1991: mummified, frozen, complete with his clothing and equipment – an archaeological sensation and a unique snapshot of a human from the Copper Age.
